Oh you who I called friend,
Offered me your right hand of friendship,
Only to slay me with the left hand of deceit.
Trust I did offer to you,
Only to receive ridicule and shame,
To my darkened tomb within I now retreat!
The songs of a brother you did sing well,
And how a was so seduced,
By the lullabies of stinking acrid lies.
Never even wary
Never even expecting you,
To cheaply tarnish all those binding ties!
Casting off this bloody illusion,
Ridding me of your comely guise,
To trample down again this hollow ploy.
From shame you come,
To shame you will surely go,
Although the once felt love is not to enjoy.
I now retreat and go beyond the gates from which I did come,
To your shame you have added to these darkened sullen halls.
And as I go and you will see my shadow no more,
For into the blackness I return to rest from all my falls!
