The mid-day Sun a hazing blur, as Dessert winds begin to stir
The hot bright light of reflecting sand, upon the dunes of a baking land
But yet there was a single throng, that echoed like a siren’s song
Unable to see just where I’ve been, can’t tell of everything I’ve seen
That sound I hear I know so well, and yet to place it I can’t tell
My Dessert mistress whom I love, to comfort me from round above
And as I wander to and fro, around the shifting sand I go
Just up ahead I can't escape, The dancer with the veiled shape
She sauntered from behind the wind, and mouthed the words "I had not sinned"
And as she crept right up to me, I felt that I just had to flee
Moving her head and narrow hips, thrust up her chin parted her lips
To kiss upon this mouth so strained, the ground was dry it had not rained
I noticed that the land was bare, not a living green thing anywhere
This was barren just like sin, I saw my foot prints where I'd been
And as I looked upon her face, I saw my end right through her lace
My GOD will I sin against thee, for a moment's pleasure would it be
And all at once the music ceased, I'd slew the brutal savage beast
And as I awoke within my bed, the dream still trailing from my head
But as I looked down at my feet, a saw the sand upon the sheet
