Blackness is an acquired taste,
But not for mortals, gentle mortals so.
This mortal coil does not keep,
our nature so in check.
Let us not deny any thing in haste,
keeping the shadows of our minds low.
As if to cover us in this dark and deep,
the cool night winds on our necks
To where hence we go forth,
from where hence we from came.
As the wind that was and is,
We do blow and move within this mystery.
A bite as by a wind from the north,
a single candle, flickering candle flame snuffed out.
And in us unlife did rise,
that unlife that will reject all blame,
and has un-slipped from its mortal coil so.
